Under 16 Boy's Team
On Wednesday, January 15th, the Under-16 boys' football team played a National Cup Round 6 fixture against The Swan School. The match ended 3-3 after full time, and the boys emerged victorious, winning 5-4 in the penalty shootout. The Player of the Match was awarded to Jake Edwards, who scored a fantastic individual goal. Our next match will be at home in Round 7 in the coming weeks.
1st XI Men's Team
On Friday, January 17th, our 1st XI Football team achieved a significant milestone in the ESFA National Cup by advancing to the Quarter Finals after a 2-1 victory against a strong Sandringham side. Goals from Luke Baranowski and Tom Perry secured the win. Special praise goes to goalkeeper Alex Wilson, who was outstanding from the opening whistle in ensuring that our opponents' attacks ultimately came to nothing. The team will now travel to Carres Grammar School in a few weeks' time.
On Wednesday, January 22nd, in addition to our ESFA Cup run, the 1st XI is also competing in the AOC (Colleges) National Cup, and have also reached the Quarter Finals. After a long trip to Norwich to face Dereham Soccer & Education Academy (DESA), the boys secured a convincing 5-0 victory. It was an impressive display of clinical finishing and attacking football. The goals were scored by Luke Baranonowski (2), Harleigh Johnson-Standley, Dan Kemp, and Olly Kemp. “Bara” had a standout performance leading the line for Whitbread, earning him the Player of the Match award.
