At Samuel Whitbread Academy we are keen to give academic support to all students both inside and outside of timetabled hours. Every Tuesday and Thursday we run late buses to the surrounding villages in order to give students the opportunity to stay late after school and catch up with classwork, revise, complete homework or seek extra help from their teachers. Lunchtime sessions are also on offer: students will need to contact their subject teachers to find out information about how to access this provision.

Year 11: Additional Learning Opportunities (ALO) and Catch-up and support (CAS)

Additional Learning Opportunities take place on both Tuesday and Thursday during Period 6 (Between 3pm and 4pm) These are targeted intervention that provide selected students with additional teaching in areas that they have been identified as needing extra support in. If you have been invited to these sessions you will have received a letter through Edulink outlining which sessions you should attend.

Catch-up and Support sessions are available to all students. These also occur between 3pm and 4pm on a Tuesday and Thursday and the list of current sessions are below. These will be updated on a termly basis. When attending these sessions, it is useful to have already identified an area of the curriculum that you need support with.
